Qualified, trained, and checked to support young people safely and effectively.

My Mission

To provide young people with a genuine, respectful, and supportive space to reflect on their experiences and better understand themselves.

I want support to be available early, when something doesn't feel right or isn't working, so young people don't have to wait until things become too difficult to manage. The aim is to build self-awareness and self-belief that can support confidence, capability and greater independence well beyond counselling.

My qualifications & training

  • Bachelor Degree in Psychology
  • Graduate Diploma in Counselling
  • Australian Counselling Association Accreditation

Youth Clearances

Brooke at Rising Minds Counselling

My approach is straightforward: you set the direction, and we work out the path together. Sessions are not about me telling you what to do or handing you a checklist of fixes.  If you are not sure where to start, that is okay.

We can take some time to understand what is going on, explore what might help, and work out some practical next steps. You decide what feels important to work on, and we take it at a pace that feels manageable for you.

The values I bring into each session are curiosity, honesty, realness, kindness, and respect for your independence.  You are the expert on your own life.  My job is to help you access that, not override it.

How I work

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to counselling.  I draw from different therapeutic approaches depending on what feels relevant and useful to you.

✧ Person-Centred
✧ Solution Focused
✧ Narrative
✧ Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
✧ Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
✧ Grounding & Mindfulness

Life can get unexpectedly complicated, and sometimes the people around you, or even your own head, just isn't enough to work through it all.

Sometimes it helps to have somewhere else to take it.

I'm a counsellor who works with young people aged 16 to 25 by phone and video, and in person around Glenelg by arrangement, so my support fits around your life, not the other way around.

Before training as a counsellor, I spent 18 years in the travel industry, working with clients in person, by phone and online.  What I learned across years of working with people, regardless of the mode, is people open up and share when they feel genuinely listened to, not managed. That is what eventually led me here.
